Hugh & James' Christening.

We had a very exciting reason to head to Melbourne on the weekend... Little James & Hugh McNicol were being christened...

Here's Matty & James having their picnic lunch in the car while I grabbed some groceries from the supermarket.

James with my aunty Corrie (he'd just woken up and wasn't letting Ronnie the cow go!!!)
And with my uncle Tom (Mum's brother)

Big smiles for Tom & Corrie.
(I'll insert a pic of the actual christening moment here as soon as I get one. James can't operate a camera yet ;-) and Matt and I had our hands full...)

After the christening with the priest outside Mother of God church in Ivanhoe.

Me holding James, Danny, Sylvia holding James, Matt holding Hugh (Alicia had had enough and was resting in the pram).
Matt & I with Hugh, our God Son.
Hugh on the left (I think!) and James. Yes, they are identical twin boys!!!
A big goodbye smooch from Alicia for a desperately tired James.
We had a great time catching up with 2 special families in Melbourne! Thanks Tom & Corrie for having us stay and thanks Danny & Sylvs for asking us to be Hughie's God parents!!!

Do 'Rocks' skip a generation???

My dad, Leon/Grandpa, has always thought rocks were pretty good. The Walsh girls, on the other hand, haven't! But, oh no, it seems the gene has skipped our generation and is becoming evident in the next...

Here's the budding geologist on Sunday in the garden with Daddy... What's the testing called when you put it in your mouth Grandpa Walsh!!

Excursion to the Petshop...

Always on the search for something new to do, I had the idea yesterday to take James to the petshop to see some pet animals... He looooooves animals in any setting so I thought this would be a hit...

It was. But, he wanted to stay pretty close to me most of the time so I couldn't really get any pics of him being excited. We'll have to take Matt to the pet shop sometime so he can see him too...

Here's some pics anyway...

Pharmacy Photos - 11 months...

Don't know about my choice of clothing for the poor little boy... Makes him look a bit washed out "Bold & the Beautiful" style doesn't it!!!!

James is also requiring a little bit of help to stay in the right spot.... Hmmmmm....

Ooh Aah Glenn McGrath!!!!

Matt had a hard day at work today. He had to play golf and drink beer with Ooh Aah!!!!
Glenn is an ambassador for Elders, and the Elders branch at Albury, in conjunction with the McGrath Foundation, held a fundraising golf day at which Glenn agreed to come and play. Matt said Glenn was a really great person. Very down to earth and willing to talk to anyone, he said you could easily see why so many people hold him in such high regard.
After being at the golf club all day (started at 10.30am) he called me at about 4 and asked me to bring James up for a photo with Glenn...

We think it's pretty cool that James will have this photo of him with the best fast bowler the world's ever seen!

And Matt bought his book...

And had it signed for him. (He forgot about James then...)

Pretty cool isn't it!!!!!

A quiet weekend, finally!!!!

We've had a 'quiet' weekend at home this weekend. So this is what we've done...

On Friday (inspired by a little friend from Mum's group) we pulled out a new toy for James... this tunnel! After a little bit of coaxing (read: Jane crawling somewhat unladylike through the tunnel and then reversing as James came through it the other direction!) James has taken to it like a duck to water, even playing games with us now and stopping halfway and hiding!!!!

Saturday afternoon, after a lazy morning at home, we went to the Botanic Gardens for a play on some green stuff...

Please note the body position of both boys. Hmmmmmnnnn!!!!!

James loves being outdoors and loved the wide open spaces...

And even came back on his own!

Perhaps it was the allure of fresh grapes...

Yummo!!!!

Going, going, gone...

James' hat seemed to spend more time on the ground than on his head!

Ahhhh, a nice cold drink after all that work!

Today has been a beautiful day here so Matt and James set up a fun play area outside and James played away for the rest of the day.

Back and forth through the tunnel and the teepee... "Come on Dad, like this!"

James thoroughly enjoyed his weekend with his Dad... Although he's a little disappointed he didn't get to go out to the saleyards again...
As you may know, I started back at work on Wednesday, working 2 days a week. When I left my car lights on Thursday afternoon and found a flat battery at the end of the day, Matt saved the day by picking James up from childcare, but Matt still had a little bit of work to do, including nicking out to the saleyards to lock some cattle away. Well, James wondered where he'd been all his life!!!!! Matt tells me James kicked his legs and flapped his arms, squealing with delight as they walked through a pen of calves. And when Matt was yelling to move the cattle along so was James!! I can see James in 3 years time getting ready every morning to go to work with Dad. We'll see how that goes then...

Anyway, back to Sunday afternoon... Here's a little boy who likes water play a little too much!!!

"What's wrong Mum?"
Life's pretty good hey????
