Back to it?

I know, I’ve been missing.  Really missing.  For a long time!

Pretty much since we left for overseas we’ve been running the ‘life treadmill’ at a super fast pace while we’ve tried to do the essentials amid illness (all of ours), work, footy/netball, family and friends.  And to top it all off, our computer started playing up about 3 weeks ago and wouldn’t turn on, and testament to how flat out we’ve been, it took me 3 weeks to take it in to the computer place for the 30 minutes it took to service it and replace the power supply.  3 weeks without a computer in this house was kind of weird but great at the same time!  So the blog has fallen off the list of essentials and has been a little way down the priority list as far as non-essentials go too...

We’re optimistic that we’ll get back on top soon because there’s an end in sight...

After about 16 years playing senior aussie rules footy (including junior and senior rep sides, AFL draft camps, SANFL, O&M, a few premierships, 13 concussions (including 6 total knockouts), torn/sprained/broken body parts and countless moments where you cheer, sigh or cringe) I have it on good authority that the grand final in the Picola & District Football League (North West Division) will probably be the last game for Matty Tinks (for a while).

He’s passionate about footy, and passionate about community, so that makes him even more passionate about playing for his home town club Jerilderie, and to go out with a premiership win over Berrigan (arch rivals) this Sunday would be a fairytale end to a damn good footy career.  So cross everything you’ve got cos, selfishly, we want our Matty/Daddy back around a bit more, and if they lose there may be more temptation for ‘just one more year’ - for the 4th time ;) .

So ahead in the blog (well I’ll back date it so it will be behind technically) will be the rest of Europe (day 5-30 actually) plus a few stories about Miss Lucy and Master James and what they’ve been doing to amuse us recently...  You won’t believe it when you see Lucy, she’s no baby any more, she’s a fully fledged toddler who chats away about ‘gogs’ (dogs), ‘cows’ going ‘Mooooooo’, and still picks up ‘Miwwie & Mowwie’ (Millie & Molly her 2 soft toy pigs) and ‘Mummie’ (her dummy) and totters off to her room when she’s tired.

Will be back soon...
