Destination Tinkler...

Yippee!, Yay!!!, Woo - hoo!!!!!! We finally own our block of land...
Here's some pics...

Will get some better ones soon... We're knee deep in decision making about colours for brick/roof/wall/tile and flooring etc. at the moment.
But at least the floor plan is finalised... Here 'tis...
Yep, that's right. Plenty of room for all of our interstate/other-end-of-state friends and family to come and stay. And a good size yard for a bit of backyard cricket and a barbie...
(P.S. Close to the snow too Leigh...)

Beach bumming...

Friday was spent at the beach. We thought it was lovely weather compared to the 10s and 12s we've been getting at home. It reached a top of 18 but felt like 30 to us.

James is big enough now to enjoy getting around on the sand, barefoot and in a t-shirt (much to his Nanna's horror ;) considering it's really the middle of winter...

Matty built some great sandcastles...

And when he wasn't looking... The sandcastle smasher arrived!

We threw a frisbee skillfully into the wind, and chased it quickly as it went off course down wind...

Had a little splash in the shallows...

And then someone decided it was time to head home.

What another lovely day in the Coffs Harbour sun...

Good for the soul!

Jacqui was behind the camera today... That's why I'm in some of the shots!

Oops...

We spent a few unplanned hours in the Coffs Harbour Emergency Department today following a James v TV Cabinet incident. The TV Cabinet won...

He was very brave, he didn't scream too long, and it didn't bleed too much... We decided to go to emergency when it happened at 8am thinking it was mighty close to the eye and might have needed some glue or a stitch.

After 6 HOURS!!!!! of sitting in the waiting room (watching ambulance after ambulance and many poor old men with chest pain walk through the door and bump us down the list) we gave up and set off home to rest up and get some fresh air.

In hindsight, the injury probably didn't warrant the trip to emergency (we did try to get into 6 different doctors while waiting) but it was hard to know immediately after it happened.
Feeling a bit cranky about a wasted holiday day, I wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper expressing my disappointment at the lack of medical services available in the region. Lo and behold I get a phone call this afternoon from a reported who was told to write an article by her editor and I was further interviewed for the article.
Oopsi-daisy! Didn't mean to open a can of worms... But maybe it will help someone else so here's hoping.

Coffs... Aaaaaahhhh!

We arrived in Coffs on Sunday for our annual winter getaway and boy, have we had fun so far!

Matt's been running at least once a day along the beach... James has been puddling about in the sand, sea and surf... And I've been sleeping ;) ...

We decided to get into it on Wednesday so we headed off to the Jetty for fish'n'chips for lunch and a play at the park. And, yep, I had a play with Jacqui's new camera!!!!!!

"Righto - what do I do now?"

"Yikes!"

"How do I get back up there again?"

"I love throwing sand. Don't know what Mum's issue is..."

"This is how you get back up there Dad"

"Oh, okay, I'm ready again..."

"YAY!!!!!!"

Around the wharf with my Dad...

And back at the unit with Jacqui and I both behind the camera...

Blowfish or kiss?

All gone...

Yummo... Daddy's foot...

Life's pretty good up here... And I'm loving Jacqui's new camera! I'm definitely not saying that a new camera makes you a photographer like Leigh, Ange and Bainy, but gees, I'm pretty sure Monet didn't use paintbrushes from the Reject Shop...

More to come...
