The Tinkler Olympics...

Paul and the girls are back from Canada for their biannual visit.  The whole Tinkler mob descended on Klara Ct for a weekend of fun and family capping off with the Tinkler Olympics, organised by the IOC (the Inspired Overseas Clan).
Although it wasn't an official event in the TO (Tinkler Olympics) the effort to catch a family photo felt like a marathon... ;)

Lucy's Musical Talent...

One girl, one song, and a lot of little distractions along the way...

Add to the mix a patient Grandpa with a video camera and movie editing software...

The result...

Morning hair!

A ripper of a bird's nest today Lucy girl!

Finals 2012... The march home...

Footy finals are here again, and this is the last of the last times... For us oldies anyway. James can start playing in a few years and we might be back here week in week out...

But, after 5 years of hanging up the boots, this is really, really it! ('Sure' I hear you say but I'd put money on it this time).

My netball side finished top of the ladder so we were treated to a week off and the chance next Saturday to go straight in to the Grand Final...
The footy boys finished 5th on the ladder so will have to win every game to make it to the grand final. So they won, in a very big way!!!!

James has always been too shy to join in with post-match celebrations, but today he just got swept along with the crowd and there he was! And so was Lucy!!! Lucy was right on Matt's leg but James stood a safe distance back... You can see him when the guy next to Matt moves...

Fingers crossed for 2 more wins next weekend!

The silence is deafening!

Fridays are tired days here and, more often than not, I'm looking at the clock by this time on a Friday waiting for Matt to get home. But this afternoon, after trying out lots of different craft activities, going to the supermarket and having afternoon tea, we've found something that has captured both kids attention, and kept their focus for longer than 30 seconds! Cheerios on pipecleaners! We're aiming for them to be bird-feeders of sorts but along the road they're being pretty good kid-feeders!
Plus, what a great fine motor and attention skills game!

Olympics 2012

We love it. It's inspirational. And then things like this make it all the more inspirational. Google Oscar Pistorious, and read about the man who was born without fibulas so he had bilateral amputations of his lower limbs at 11 months old... And then somewhere along the way he had some legs made that let him run. And he can run! We watched him tonight in the 400m heats, the first bilateral amputee in the Olympics. Wow! He's through to the next round so we'll keep watching and see how the story unfolds...
