24 hours of giggles!

We've had a silly, giggling kind of 24 hours... Just James-o and I, because Matt's been working LAAAAATE with farmers who work LAAAAAATE in daylight savings time! Poor Matty got home after James went to bed last night and was gone before we woke up this morning.

James is addicted to the digi camera - especially checking himself out after the pics are taken! These 2 pics are taken of him 'smiling'!!!!


And then, Pumpkin Patch had a special on t-shirts so we bought some and were sent a freebie pair of sunnies... I tried to show James how to put them on but he thought he knew how to wear them a better way!

Cool!!!!

And then this morning, after a breakkie of toast and a fruit smoothie (yummo!) James asked 'pease' for the catalogue I was reading - the Aldi catalogue and, specifically, the page with the bubble blower and the bubbles!

But the giggly 24 hours was topped off this morning in my 'booking in' interview with the hospital... After reviewing James' passage into this world, the midwife recommended Matt and I learn how to deliver a baby in case it happens at home or in the car! And then (I'm glad I found this funny) when she asked me my pre-pregnancy weight and I said 'not sure, and gave a guesstimate' she said, "Surely not, that's hefty!'. I reminder her I was 6 foot tall and then she said 'Oh well, that's very reasonable then...' Gotta love midwives!

All going well here... James is keeping everyone busy! Matt and I are heading off to Libby and Shannon's wedding on Saturday so James is having his first weekend away from both of us at Nan & Pa Tinkler's... Wish them luck ;) !!!!!!

And it begins... Excavation day!

We received 2 exciting phone calls on Friday: The first saying council had (finally!!!!) approved the house; and the 2nd saying our finance was approved.

Liaising with the builder, we were even more excited to find out that there was a place on the excavating schedule for us to have our site levelled 3 working days later, on Tuesday the 20th October!

So today, after a beautiful lunch for my friend Katy's big 3-0 at the local nursery cafe, we thought we'd swing by the block and take a photo before the work started.

Too late!!!!! We arrived to a freshly excavated building site - done ahead of schedule (that's got to be rare for building a house!!!!!) and on a Saturday to boot!!!!

We've taken some pics for the memories but hopefully they give a bit of an idea of where you'll all visit in the near future ;)

Biking, mowing and bubbles!!!!

Check this movie out... It's in 3 parts...

1. James on his 'motor bike' saying "Look Mum - no hands!!!!" and loving the attention.

2. Mowing the freshly mown lawns ;) and taking a tumble on the concrete! Little did we know at the time that he'd cut his knees open but, sure enough, 5 minutes later we notice blood all down his legs! Too tough for his own good that kid!

and 3. Kate sent James this fandangled bubble wand from the UK. See the results for yourself! James is a little tentative as I forced him to wear his sandals for the first time ever that day and the ground was feeling a little unstable!!!! Great fun was had by all though!

Dad on tour!

Now I've been a bit quiet but I've still been blogging madly! Let me explain...

On the 5th October, Dad set off on a holiday with his fellow principals and the Bishop of the Lismore Diocese to Athens, Greece, Turkey and Rome to retrace the footsteps of St Paul...

Given the difference in internet speed (and trying to navigate blogger in Greek!) Dad's been forwarding some of his postings home via the more reliable email system and I've been posting them for him.
