Bye Bye Katie...

Off she goes again... To continue her dream of living and working on the other side of the world.

We were spoilt rotten to have Katie stay with us for nearly 3 weeks during her stay. And she worked like a trooper helping us move from the old house to our brand newy! And what's more, Kate and Mum cleaned the old house from top to bottom while I was asleep. That's a pretty ordinary effort from me and a superb effort from both of them!

Anyway, back to farewelling Katie, there were a few tissues needed as we waved goodbye.

Same rules apply. Strictly no boyfriends unless they'll move back to Australia. We mean strictly!

Lucy Jane's Christening...

Lucy's Christening was this morning at Sacred Heart...

We had the Walshs, the Murphys, the Tinklers, Josh, Chan and Isabel, and Anna join us to celebrate.



James joined in as he decided it was appropriate... Mostly he just explored!

It's not unusual to have Dad and Kate asleep on a couch in the middle of the day...

Murphy time

The Murphys, with their busy social lives, hadn't had a chance to meet Lucy before coming down for her Christening. They snuck over on Saturday afternoon to have a peek at the new house as well as the new baby. And I'm sure they wanted to see James, Matt and I too!

Abby and Alex came to town with Big Ted, Little Ted, Jemima and Humpty.

After some initial hesitation about joining in with the singing and dancing, James, and the rest of the kids from our Mum's group grooved and moved to the beat!







And then it was over...


We'll definitely line up for the next one!

Lucy, meet Grandpa!

Well, it must have been worse than some forms of torture! But it took 5 weeks for Grandpa Walsh to get his first cuddle with little Lucy! And it was only that Kate's time in Australia was running out the he didn't keep hold of her all weekend.

Reminiscent of the trip to Tassie when James was 7 weeks old, and Dad would call time when he judged someone else had held him long enough, Kate stated up front that she would pull rank at any time over the weekend to get her years share of cuddles before jet setting back to the UK!

After a big day packing & unpacking, we settled back into the little old house for the evening - not ready to sleep in the new house yet...
