Sitting with Santa 2010

There was one shot

There were two shots

And with the magic of computers there was the final product! Bit dodgy I know but it's ended up being a great pic!!!!

We'd be working up to the Santa photo for a while, and I'd been dressing the kids in 'good' clothes every day for the whole week in the hope that one day James would agree to sitting on the big fella's lap. It got to 4pm on Christmas Eve and Lucy woke up from a super long afternoon sleep. The Coffs Plaza and Coffs Town Centre Santa photos had finished at 4pm so we raced to Toormina Plaza (5pm knock off time) and found the Santa was meant to finish at 4pm on Christmas Eve but, because there were others like us who were working off the advertised finishing time, he was taking a short break but was going to be back soon.

We dawdled about a bit distracting James and shopping for things we didn't need while we listened for Santa's arrival.

We heard him come back and I went in first with Lucy and helped Santa set up chairs for Matt and I to sit on (no point even trying to get the kids there on their own!). Lucy and I sat down, and Matt made his way towards us and Santa, whispering preparatory statements in James' ear as he approached. As soon as Matt sat down with James he nervously blurted "IWANNASCOOTER,
IWANNASCOOTER, IWANNASCOOTER" in Santa's general direction (3 times for good measure!!!). After he'd got that off his chest he relaxed and had a good old chat to the fella- Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas and James said a trampoline. Santa discussed the logistics of delivering a trampoline and mentioned it might be a bit tricky considering home is 1200kms away. James looked amazed when Santa asked him if he'd be happy with a scooter instead (short term memory of Dory) then gave him a high five.

It all ended with smiles and happy thoughts and to our surprise he kept wanting to go back to see him long after he'd gone!
