Our little girl was very spoilt for Christmas (I know I'm talking about an event that occurred months ago) and has thoroughly enjoyed most of her presents. I say most because there's been one present that has sat gathering dust because of some other experiences that scared her away. Long story short - Matt dressed as Santa at our Mum's Group Chrissie Party in November and spooked the life out of Lucy... To say she hated the experience might not be strong enough words... Anyway, the present 'Santa' gave her that night was a set of green wings and a skirt. She didn't want a bar of it and continues to this day to run from it!
So, on Christmas day, when we opened the Katie parcels, all the way from London town, everyone except Lucy gushed at the gorgeous 'Tinkerbell' dress ups that Lucy had been given. Even James thought they were beautiful! But, much to our horror and embarrassment when we talked to Kate, the memories of the Santa experience were still too recent and she took off. Rather than push it, we put them in the top of the cupboard for another day.
Monday night this week, James found the dressups box and enthusiastically dressed as a tiger and 'roared' around the house. Lucy grabbed the zebra costume and 'roared' around too! I seized the opportunity with Jacqui on Skype to help me distract, and put the skirt and wings on without too much fuss.
Well, apart from ensuring the zebra tale remained on, Lucy happily went along with it and danced about for a bit before deciding she wanted it off. Jacqui took some grainy screen grabs for posterity!
Today was a different story. She asked for it, and sang and danced in it for much longer! Long enough for me to get the real camera out!!!!
