And we're racing at the Mt Wycheproof Cup!

Well off to Wycheproof it was this weekend for James first taste of country racing. We had a ball in the near 30 degree heat, with James hanging out in the shade or sleeping in the stroller most of the day while Matt was traipsing back and forth to the bookies to lay our bets...
James is right into the Spring carnival and wasted no time getting into the betting ring with Matt and the Wyche boys.. (Josh is holding him) James made his choices from the race day book when we held it in front of him (we bet on the horse he touched first) and actually ended up winning $106 for the day! That's better than Matt and I have ever done!!!

We caught up with so many friends from our Wyche days (but I didn't take many pics!!!!)
Here we are with Josh & Chan.
Here's James having a cuddle with Jim (with Lee-anne in the background who was next up for a cuddle)
We went back to Jim & Lana's that night for a great barbeque with Jim & Lana's friends and family. We sat around a fire with plenty of good food & drinks and fine company til the early hours of the morning. James slept away inside during the barbeque after having a big day. That is, he slept soundly away until about 3 am when he woke up with a burning fever and the poor little man had trouble sleeping comfortably after that.
Here's James with Lana Sunday morning just before we headed off home.
(We didn't realise at this stage that James had developed an ear infection - the poor little boy had coughed and sneezed his way through the weekend but got very sick early Sunday morning. He slept and cried softly the entire way home and went straight in for cuddles whenever we stopped - and for those who know James in person he's usually too busy to be a cuddler. We spent Sunday evening at the hospital getting some antibiotics, and our sad cuddly little boy is hopefully on the mend now.)
Anyway, it was a great weekend back in Wycheproof and we thoroughly enjoyed catching up with everyone again after a year away...

Poor little man, hope he is recovering well!
Glad you got to have a weekend out enjoying the gorgeous weather and catching up with friends, even if it was a tad hot! I shouldn't be on here Monday is housework day, so I better hop to it!!

Glad to hear James in on the mend. How scary - your first trip to DEM?

No - not our first trip Bainy! We got rear-ended in the car when he was 5 months old so had to go to emergency then for him to get checked out!!! For a normally well and healthy little boy that's not a great average is it!!!

Ange - you make me feel guilty with your Monday Houseday! I should be doing the same but I'm snoozing and computer-ing when he's asleep today!
